Editing Research: Time lapse

In our music video we have decided to use a time lapse. We are going to incorporate this footage into the song and fitting with the lyrics and tempo. The shot we want to film is above fast flowing cars, we believe this technique would be affective particularly with the lyrics "I'll see the veins of my city like they do in space" the 'veins' representing car lights and using a time lapse video the headlights of cars will appear as 'veins.' We have never done a time lapse before so I have done some research on how to do this to ensure we are able to complete this.

There seems to be two ways to create a time-lapse video, taking systematic photos or recording a video. We will do the latter, as this way is much simpler and requires less technology, expertise and time. To do the video, we will record a minimum of 5 minute clips for each time-lapse video of one stable shot of the moving objects, then in Adobe Premiere Pro we will speed up this footage.
